Speaking Garments

Public Relations Assistant

An independent fashion label at the intersection of art and clothing. During my time at Speaking Garments, I worked closely with contemporary artists, supported creative collaborations and helped connect the label with its international audience through PR, research and communication.

01

Limited Artist Collaboration

Art you can wear.

The edition with Gert & Uwe Tobias, twin brothers born in Brașov and based in Cologne, known for their woodcuts, collages and typewriter drawings, shown from the Whitechapel Gallery to MoMA. Their imagery is surreal, folkloric and a little unsettling: elongated figures, reaching hands, creatures that hover between myth and joke.

Artist Collaboration: Walter Dahn

Punk is the sound of my soul.

Scouting regional artists for art × fashion collaborations led to the label's 4th edition with Walter Dahn: Beuys master student, protagonist of the Mülheimer Freiheit and a painter whose work lives between art, music and pop culture. His 2 Emotions Coat carries fragments of three works: the slogan "Punk is the sound of my soul", the embroidered banner "I Left You My Dreams on Your Answering Machine" and a print from Untitled (Soultree), 2015.
